I Was Following the Script—Until I Woke Up.
I kept myself moving: working late, overfilling my calendar, pouring another drink, chasing the next wild weekend, mistaking motion for meaning. I had mastered the art of escaping in ways that looked completely normal. Every quiet moment was filled with noise and distraction so I wouldn’t have to sit with myself or feel what was really underneath it all.
Then psychedelics found me. For the first time, I stopped running. I got quiet. I listened. And in that stillness, I began to remember who I really was.
Then Psychedelics Found Me
Psychedelics didn’t just help me quit drinking—they helped me understand why I was drinking. They revealed the generational patterns I was carrying, the emotional avoidance I had inherited, and the ways I had been numbing instead of feeling.
They also reconnected me to my body. Years of stress and stored trauma had weighed me down—literally. Through intentional psychedelic use and integration, I began to regulate my nervous system, release negative mental patterns, and rebuild a relationship with my body based on trust and awareness. Over time, I lost 45 pounds not through restriction, but through reconnection and self-care.
Psychedelics opened the door to profound self-reflection. I saw the truth of the life I was living on autopilot—staying in comfort rather than in alignment. With this clarity, I chose change. I stopped running.
This is why I do this work. Psychedelics are not a quick fix, but a catalyst for transformation. They illuminate what needs to be seen and felt, and integration turns that awareness into lasting change.
If you feel the call to explore this work with intention and evidence-based support, I’m here to guide you safely, with the tools that changed my life.
North Node is the integration and guidance arm of this work. Rooted in neuroscience, mindfulness, and intentional microdosing education, it supports people navigating meaningful transitions, persistent patterns, or moments of inner reorientation.
Founded by Maggie Kirkwood, North Node offers grounded support for translating insight into embodied change, without bypassing, dependency, or shortcuts.
If you’re here, something in you is already waking up.
